This inspection report, prepared by a competent person, should include:

  •  a confirmation of visual and selected strip-down of critical components as required or where necessary
  • any defects discovered and all remedial actions undertaken to bring the equipment up to standard
  • an assessment of the mechanical condition of the equipment

NDT Inspection Services

We aim to partner with clients to manage the risk associated with ownership and operation of mobile equipment common to the modern heavy industry. In particular, we assess those risks that are related to lifting equipment such as cranes, elevating platform, scissor lift and forklift.

We can perform Non-Destructive evaluations using two modern techniques and procedures:

MAGNETIC PARTICLE INSPECTION (MPI)

Is the process for detecting surface and slightly subsurface discontinuities in all ferromagnetic materials. Using the AC Yoke system for greater mobility, we perform the inspection in accordance with Australian Standard:
AS 1171 - Methods for magnetic particle testing of ferromagnetic products and components

ULTRASONIC TESTING (UT)

Is the method for the detection of surface and subsurface flaws in all types of metals & alloys, welds, castings and forgings. Cracks, laminations, shrinkage cavities, bursts, flakes, pores, dis-bonds, and other discontinuities that produce reflective interfaces can be easily detected. This method can be used for thickness testing of pipework, plate, components and materials where only one face is accessible. It can also be used to assess the quality of bonded materials.

Using a portable Ultrasonic flaw detector, we perform the inspection in accordance with Australian Standard:
AS 2452.3 - Non-destructive testing - Determination of thickness.

To comply with WorkSafe Victoria regulations, we offer annual NDT inspections of your equipment onsite. Contact us to make an appointment.
